UTM Link Builder

Build tagged URLs with utm_source, medium, campaign, content and term — with ad-platform macros.

Loza CRM·Updated: September 29, 2026

Quick answer

Paste your target URL, pick a source preset or fill the tags manually — you get a ready tracking link. Platform macros like {{campaign.name}} and {keyword} are inserted raw, not URL-encoded.

Macros {{…}}, {…} and __…__ are inserted raw — the ad platform expands them.

How to use

  1. Paste the target URL — landing page, offer or tracker link
  2. Pick a source preset (Facebook, Google, TikTok) or fill utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign manually
  3. Add utm_content and utm_term for creative- or keyword-level detail
  4. Copy the finished link — it’s ready for your campaign

Why you need it

UTM tags are the standard for marking paid traffic: parameters appended to a URL tell your analytics and tracker where each visitor came from. Without them, all clicks merge into one undifferentiated blob — you can’t tell which source, creative or campaign actually converts.

This builder assembles a correct tagged link: the required trio utm_source (traffic source), utm_medium (traffic type) and utm_campaign (campaign name), plus optional utm_content (ad or adset) and utm_term (keyword). Existing query parameters in your URL are preserved, and stale utm_* keys are replaced cleanly.

The important detail for media buyers is macro support. Ad platforms substitute placeholders like {{campaign.name}} on Facebook, {keyword} on Google or __CAMPAIGN_NAME__ on TikTok at click time — but only if they arrive unencoded. Many generators percent-encode the braces and silently break the macros; this tool detects {{…}}, {…} and __…__ tokens and inserts them raw.

A consistent naming scheme is the foundation of clean stats: lowercase, no spaces, one convention across every campaign. UTM covers the analytics side; for click-level tracking pair it with your tracker’s sub-parameters (sub1–sub5 carry clickid and internal variables). Loza CRM reads both layers and ties them to conversions from postbacks.

FAQ

Which UTM parameters are required?
Three: utm_source (where traffic comes from — facebook, google, telegram), utm_medium (type — cpc, banner, email) and utm_campaign (campaign name). Content and term are optional detail.
Why are my {{campaign.name}} macros not working?
Usually because a generator percent-encoded them into %7B%7B…%7D%7D. This tool keeps {{…}}, {…} and __…__ macros raw so the ad platform can expand them.
UTM vs tracker sub-parameters — what’s the difference?
UTM is the universal standard for analytics. Tracker sub-parameters (sub1–sub5) carry clickid and internal variables. They complement each other — use both.
Do UTM tags affect SEO?
No — URL parameters don’t change how the target page is indexed. Use tags only for paid and marketing traffic, not organic links.
What naming convention should I use?
Lowercase, no spaces (hyphens or underscores), one fixed scheme across all campaigns — otherwise your stats fragment into duplicates.
